Crater of Diamonds to host Great Crater Cleanup on September 11
By Waymon Cox
Greetings from Crater of Diamonds State Park! Over the summer, thousands of visitors have come and gone from the Crater, making lifelong memories and taking photos, souvenirs, rocks, minerals, and diamonds home. Unfortunately, some have also left litter behind, tarnishing an otherwise-great experience for many travelers.
This Saturday, September 11, you can help make the Crater more fun for everyone as Crater of Diamonds State Park hosts the third annual Great Crater Cleanup from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., in conjunction with the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission’s Great Arkansas Cleanup! In case of rain, the Great Crater Cleanup will be postponed until Saturday, September 25.
Come help the Crater shine at the Great Crater Cleanup!
Help us remove trash from the search area, and the Crater will
shine like a diamond! We will give away Great Arkansas Cleanup t-shirts while supplies last, and all volunteers may search for diamonds free after the event. Come show your support for the Natural State, and fight against litter at the Great Crater Cleanup this Saturday!
