October 2 Concert at the Crater features Joey Shaver
The second Concert at the Crater, on Saturday, October 2, 2010, will bring country music to the Crater of Diamonds State Park. Joey Shaver, a long-time area resident from Lockesburg will showcase Country favorites old and new. His set will include songs by Brooks and Dunn, Ricky Van Shelton, Garth Brooks, and even some old Elvis Presley numbers.
Shaver began his singing career in a DeQueen church, where he frequently sang solos. More recently he has opened for Darryl Worley and is the 2009 winner of the Owa-Chito Talent Show in Broken Bow, Okla. Last winter he participated in the Southwest Arkansas Talent Show sponsored by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. In his “real” life Joey works as a technician for Engineered Products, Inc., and lives in Lockesburg with his wife and 2 daughters.
The park amphitheater is a lovely place for a concert. You can also come early and view our newly opened, renovated campground, which is right next door to the amphitheater. Or, come and camp for the weekend, look for diamonds, and enjoy some good music in the evening.
So bring your lawn chairs and blankets, because seating is limited at our Park Amphitheater. The concert will begin at 7:00 PM. The charge is only $2.00 for adults (ages 13 and up) and children are free. Join us under the stars for a musical evening to remember. For more information call the park office at 870/285-3113.
