Crater of Diamonds to host fall photography workshop
By Waymon Cox
Greetings from the Crater of Diamonds! With its milder temperatures and beautiful colors, fall is a great time to get outside and photograph the ever-changing world around us, and the natural surroundings at Crater of Diamonds State Park provide a unique backdrop for photographers of all skill levels during this special time of year!
On Saturday, October 15, Crater of Diamonds State Park will host a digital photography workshop called Fall Photography in the Park, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Participants, ages 13 and up, are invited to bring digital cameras and join guest photographer Velvet Counts and Park Interpreter Waymon Cox in the Diamond Discovery Center classroom. We’ll discuss good composition, camera settings, photo editing, and taking advantage of peak fall colors for better photographs. With nice weather we’ll also take a hike in the park to capture beautiful fall photos, and participants may choose their favorite photos to exhibit in a park photo gallery!
Entrance fee for the workshop is only $15 per person and may be paid at the visitor center upon arrival. Space is limited! Call Crater of Diamonds State Park at 870-285-3116 by October 10 to sign up. Novices and professionals alike are welcome to attend to learn new skills, share knowledge, and meet other photographers in the unique setting of a Crater of Diamonds!
