Photographers capture fall memories at Crater of Diamonds
By Waymon Cox
Greetings from
Crater of Diamonds State Park! On October 15, the park held a fall
photography workshop to teach photographers about camera operation, photo composition, and how to capture the best fall colors.
Because the trees are still mostly green around the park, our photographers were challenged to capture the
experience of
autumn at the park in other ways, leading to many unique and beautiful compositions. For southwest Arkansas, peak fall foliage isn’t expected until late October or early November, so area photographers can still practice shooting landscapes and leaves before fall color is at its best!
The Crater is located eight miles south of the scenic Ouachita Mountains, and travelers are already visiting the area to enjoy the cooler weather and beautiful natural surroundings our state offers. Judging by the recent drop in temperatures, the bright colors of autumn can’t be far off. Even without a camera, it’s hard to resist venturing outside to enjoy the multihued beauty that comes with
the season!
